Wearside Golf Club

A club website and suite of tools, built from scratch.

Like most golf clubs, Wearside's digital setup was built around administration software — competition management, bar systems, membership records. The website was an afterthought. Bundled in with a legacy platform, unsupported, and lacking the kind of features members at any modern organisation would take for granted. No video. No proper hero. No dynamic content.

Replacing it wasn't just a case of building a new site. The legacy system handled things like course status updates automatically — so before I could switch anything over, I needed to build the tools to replace that functionality first.

So that's what I did.

The course status tool lets the greenkeeper update conditions directly — no technical knowledge needed. An admin tool handles open competition scores. The halfway house ordering system lets members scan a QR code on the eighth tee and place their food order for collection — ready and waiting by the time they walk in. And a table booking system for the bar and kitchen links directly into a single booking admin, giving staff a complete view of both halfway house orders and table reservations in one place.

These aren't features you'd expect at Wearside. These are features you'd expect at a multi-million pound club, if you'd expect them anywhere at all.

Wearside now has them.
